Auckland Transport is making some changes to Māngere buses. Below is information about these changes. Please share this news with your community.
These bus changes will provide better connections to:
Middlemore Hospital
train stations
the airport industrial area.
They will also make it easier to make local trips using buses.
Bus changes from 2 November 2025
Route 309X will be reduced to two morning and two afternoon trips on weekdays. These services will operate until the City Rail Link opens, at which point they will be reviewed. These trips will depart:
Māngere in the morning at: 6.55am & 7.33am. Arriving at Newmarket at approximately 7.35am & 8.18am and arriving at the Civic at approximately 7.55am & 8.43am
the city centre in the afternoon at: 4.57pm & 5.27pm. Arriving at Newmarket at approximately 5.10pm & 5.40pm and arriving at Māngere town centre at approximately 6.12pm & 6.42pm
A new Route 311 will run between Māngere Bridge and Ōtāhuhu Station along Mahunga Drive. It runs from 5:15am to 11:45pm every 15 to 30 minutes.
Route 326 will get a new route layout to create a better connection between Māngere and Middlemore. It will loop around Gray Avenue with bus stops closer to Middlemore Station and hospital, and De La Salle College. These streets will get new bus stops and pedestrian crossings. It will no longer travel on Māngere Road between Ōtāhuhu College and Ōtāhuhu town centre and train station but there are other options available nearby. It will now run until midnight.
Routes 31, 32 and 325 will run every 30 minutes in the evening until their last trip. They will start a little earlier and finish about 30 minutes later all week. The Sunday timetable will now be the same as the Saturday timetable.
Route 309 gets an extra morning trip towards the city centre and five afternoon and evening trips from the city centre.
Route 313 gets some timetable changes for better connections with trains.
The current N10 (Friday and Saturday late night bus) will be replaced with a new extended version of Route 30 from the city centre. This will provide a simpler, more frequent bus service. Trips will leave the city centre at 1am, 2am and 3am on Friday and Saturday nights following the same route as the N10 but departing from the corner of Queen St and Wellesley St not Customs St. It will travel from the city centre to Onehunga, Māngere Bridge, Māngere, Papatoetoe and Ōtara.
Bus changes from 12 April 2026
Route 324 will be extended from Māngere town centre to the airport industrial area.
The section of Route 324 route through Seaside Park will be replaced with a new Route 327 beginning and ending at Ōtāhuhu Station.
Route 33 will run every 15 minutes after 7pm and every 15 to 20 minutes before 7am.

Whether people choose to drive, walk, cycle, bus, train or ferry, Auckland Transport is making trips quicker, easier and safer.
This will enable what matters most to Aucklanders – a convenient, well-connected, accessible transport system.
Transport choices will meet the needs of Aucklanders. They can live their lives and enjoy our region now and into the future as we grow.
To achieve the vision, we need:
great public transport
an efficient and sustainable transport network
safe and seamless journeys for everyone.
There will be more trains when City Rail Link opens. These bus services will allow more people to get to more places more often.
These changes are funded by Auckland’s Climate Action Transport Targeted Rate (CATTR).
